Students are selected by their teachers based on the following:

– Dance ability and potential
– Commitment to dance and the school
– Positive attitudes
– Reliability and punctuality
– Behaviour in class
– Ability to comprehend choreography quickly
The groups are allocated under the following aged groups:
6 & Under – Mini Troupe
8 & Under – Sub Junior Troupe
10 & Under – Junior Troupe
12 & Under – Intermediate Troupe
15 & Under – Senior Troupe
Teams are entered into competitions by the average age of their group. Students are placed in specific age groups at the discretion of the KFSD teaching staff.
Participating in the KFSD Competition Troupe is a positive opportunity for our students to understand the values of teamwork, as well as gaining experience as a performer.
If selected to join a KFSD Competition Troupe, parents and students must understand that a high level of dedication is expected. Students must attend all weekly classes and show a high level of commitment not only to their dancing, but also to their team.
